My 1967 Dino coupe has no seat belts. There are visible mounting points for two point belts the floor on either side of the front seats. I don't think the front seats will slide past a floor mounted retracting mechanism. Dinoparts sells a 3 point seat belt (https://www.dinoparts.com/de/teile-zube ... rheitsgurt). It appears to have a 3 point, B pillar retracting shoulder mount. Is there a factory mounting point on the B pillar? If so, how do you find it? Has anyone any experience fitting seat belts to a 2000 coupe? Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated.

I had mine fitted by a classic car seat belt specialist in the UK. Here are two photos of their installation for the front belts (not my actual car):


Note how the belt is fed behind the rear armrest storage compartment to the inertia reel. The result is perfectly comfortable in use.

That is a very nice installation. I will certainly keep that in mind if I ever renovate the back seat area. I was hoping for more of an off the shelf "bolt it in now" solution, even if it is only a two point lap belt. What is the black plastic cap at the base of the B pillar right behind the door lock? It looks like a seatbelt bolt cover and is very out of place on any interior that is not black.

I believe that's the recommended mounting point for a fixed shoulder belt indicated in the owner's manual diagram below. The black cap may have been standard for 2400 Coupes without belts or fitted by the specialist seat belt shop to cover the mounting for the old fixed belts. I was told by the specialists that the original point wasn't strong enough for mounting the inertia reel.

Yes, the black cap in Peter's picture above covers the mounting point in the 2400 Coupe. However, this is for a static belt only. Mounting the inertia reel needs some conversion. For this to work, it is important that the belt is routed vertically from the deflection point to the inertia reel. Peter's solution looks perfect.

I posted a question before about the b pillar mounting points, and my car also being a 67 has never had them so that may also be the case wirh yours.

I am going to investigate what is under my black cap on the B pillar. Maybe 3 point static mount seat belts will fit. I was hoping someone would say "Yes, I have this brand and model number and here is where you can get ones that fit" otherwise I'll have to get out the tape measure and try to estimate the correct lengths for shoulder and lap belts with the seats in different positions.

If you have the caps at the base of your 2000 Coupe B-pillar, then I think you are all set for installing static three-point belts – and probably without having to remove the rear door cards.

I do have the plastic caps on the transmission tunnel, at the base of the B pillar and also at the top of the B pillar just below the windows. I confirmed that the caps on the transmission tunnel and at the base of the B pillar were threaded - most likely for lap belts, but it wasn't obvious that there was a threaded insert under the caps on the B pillar just below the windows. I will investigate further.

There should be welded thread inserts at the intended points. It should be M12 fine thread as far as I remember.
