Where's the error?
Chassis 135AS0000754, first registered July 1, 1967?
Chassis plate 135BS0000754?
According to the chassis number history, the car would then only be from 1968?
Does anyone have more information?
Thx,
Johan

Displacement increase via type plate? Maybe misstamped during restoration? The plate looks pretty new.
Re: 135AS/BS? 0000754
The Pininfarina number is 190731, so the chassis number of 000754 matches (the last three digits of both numbers differ by 23).
The production period should be from June 1968 or shortly later.
Where does it say "first registered July 1, 1967"?
Can you please post a pic of the registration, which says 1967
There's a detailed list from Erik, registered here as "Fanalone".. ask him. he knows nearly everything about the production history..

Re: 135AS/BS? 0000754
Re the pictured chassis number plate, it is probably not the original one,
as the "135 AS" always was printed with black paint on the original plates.
Only the homologation number, the actual chassis number and the spare
parts numbers digits were stamped into the aluminium plate.
Also, the actual engine numbers were never stamped in, unlike at this plate.
The text "135b 000" (or "135c 000") was painted, not stamped.
There is a french company (FABRIK) selling new copies of the original FIAT
Dino 2,0 Litre chassis number plates.

Re: 135AS/BS? 0000754
Hi Johan
Firstly the chassis plate on your car is for sure a reproduction.
The IGM & DGM number of a vehicle is the Italian homologation number, issued by the Italian Government to all Italian vehicles from August 1959 and onwards.
The number that follows is a progressive homologation number, followed by OM, which stands for omologazione.
So from August 1959 IGM was used, and it seems like they changed to DGM around August/ september in 1967 for new type approvals!
IGM = Ispettorato Generale Motorizziazione
DGM = Direzione Generale Motorizziazione
So all Fiat Dino 2000 should have IGM stamped chassis plates, because all homologation changes of the 2000 was just extensions of the initial/ base homologation. The 2400 was homologated in 1969, thereby DGM because it is a new type approval.
Regarding the Chassis No. & Pininfarina No., they are according to my notes/ calculation matching with 23 digits in difference, which in my opinion is the most important on a Dino Spider.
The Ricambi No. seems to be correct, at least in sequense with chassis no. close to 754.
The Engine No. 1173 should according to my notes be a mid 67 production.
Regarding the production year of your car, it is fore sure a 1968 production at Fiat`s production line.
Because several modifications where implemented in the production line at Fiat in 1968 on earlier Ricambi No. than 734.
Mike Morris also states in his book on page 39, that the 1968 production started on chassis no. 135AS0000737.
If you want an official document of proof, you can contact Pininfarina Classiche Service.
They still have their archives intact, and are providing a (expensive) documentation service:
viewtopic.php?p=8399&hilit=pininfarina#p8399
This will give you a proof of when the vehicle was produced at Pininfarina in Grugliasco, before it was transported to Fiat for the drivetrain instalation at their Rivalta factory.
PS!
Pininfarina`s archive can only document the Chassis No. & Pininfarina No. (+colors - interior etc.)
Since the drivtrain & chassis plate was installed at the Fiat production line, the Engine No. & Ricambi No. is not in Pininfarinas archives.

Thanks for all the info, Erik.
Does anyone know more about the history of this car?
I bought it in Germany in 2023 from a deceased Swiss/German industrialist. His only son had no interest in cars and sold the entire ¨K¨collection.
