Is it possible to remove the starter motor from the 2000 coupe without removing the exhaust manifolds first. Also I can't even see enough space to withdraw it out from underneath.

On the Spider 2000, it worked without having to remove the exhaust manifolds;
I replaced the original Fiat starter motor with a Wasp unit.
It was a real fiddly job, but it worked!
I assume there’s no significant difference in the amount of space around the starter area between the Spider and the Coupé.

Did you remove the starter motor upwards through the engine bay or from underneath.
