Hello,
I've a dino coupe 2400.
Inside the car, I've got a double wire who goes from below the dashboard to the trunk.
It's called "resistance case" OEM : 4174137. I don't know what i need to connect and i didn't find it on the wiring diagram.
Can you help me for it ?
Do you know what's connected on your cars ?
Thank you,
Resistance case 4174137

Re: Resistance case 4174137
This is a resistance for protecting the water temperature gauge, if
the engine reaches a dangerously high temperature.
At the left cylinder head, a thermal switch is located to connect
the water temperature gauge fully to ground if the engine is too hot,
making the needle (as a warning) point at the red end of scale!
But the gauge internal winding would soon be burned and damaged
if exposed to this unregulated electrican current, so the protection
resistance is keeping the current down to a safe level.
In the wiring diagram below, the resistance is number 43.
Note a printing error in the numbering of the shown components!!!!
Number 42 should be 46, and vice versa!! (I have re-numbered these
two components in the diagram)

Thank you Dinoswede !
I already have this one But if have another in the car.
Is there another additionnal résistance in the car ? An option ?

Re: Resistance case 4174137
As far as I have found out, it should only be one resistor with a
protection case - for the water temperature gauge - in a Dino.
Maybe the one in your engine bay pic is replacing the original
one? Some kind of tampering with the electric system in your
Dino seems to have been done.
My suggestion is that you follow the wiring from the engine bay
resistor case to find out if it is connected to the left engine
head thermal switch and the temperature gauge, or not.
I guess you already have opened the resistor case and found
the correct type of resistor inside? These cases also could be
used for ordinary fuses. If so, it probably has got nothing to
do with the water temperature gauge at all!
