Threaded post on underside of 2000 coupe center console

Does anyone know what the threaded post in the photo is for?
It is on the underside of the center console insert just behind the shift boot and next to the ash tray.
Possibly for a grounding wire? Am I missing something that attaches to this area?

Hi Ben,
yes it is for grounding wire!
A small lamp is inserted into the two slots in front of it, which illuminates the ashtray

Thanks Klaus for identifying the mystery post and also for identifying what I am missing.
Does anyone have a spare ash tray light they would like to sell?
