Fiat Dino Forum (FDF)

My centre console panel is missing from around the handbrake and gear lever. I intend to make one but am a little confused about the correct style.
I have most commonly seen that the recess passes around the gear lever base but my handbook shows a square recess. Hopefully I have attached 2 pictures showing the differences on other cars on the internet. My car is a '67, serial number 2013. Both look easy enough to make and cover in black vinyl, just a question of which is correct?
Any help and advice out there please?

The car in the first photo has a non original interior and is incorrect. The second photo is correct.
