Preferred head gasket source?

Folks

Nearing reassembly time for the 2.0 engine. I believe in careful preparation and if done properly gasket quality requirements are minimized, but there seems to be no mention of available brands nor quality for the 2000 engine (other than Superformance stating they offer Spesso gaskets).

For me, if I were to pay for a quality gasket in any one place it would be the head gasket(s). Reinz seems not to make them, nor Guarnitauto. Italgasket was notorious for poor quality head gaskets in the Alfa Romeo community years ago - and it seems to be the manufacturer for the current ones from what I can tell but I'm not certain. From the looks of it they seem to be the rather cheesy graphite-paper type with small flame rings.

It looks like the ones Mr. Fiat offers may be the same as some other European vendors. Not that the originals seemed too substantial, but I prefer a wafer-style layered gasket with larger flame rings - it's what I use on the Alfa Romeo V6's with great success - but there seems not to be an option for this on the 2000 Dino engine.

Anyone with direct feedback, or suggestions?

Hi.

Seems like Dinoparts have Reinz for 2.0 in stock:

Hi all,

I remember that FIAT, in that time, often used Elring as an OEM product.

Best regards

Eric
