The plot thickens...

This is a picture of chassis number #3659, owned in Australia in 2010. It has a 2000 engine, but the body and what little you can see of the interior is 2400.

Maybe it has been converted to the small block. It has also been converted to RHD, 246 hub caps and so on.

Yes but the chassis number is less than #3670 which is a "real" 2000.

OK, and its unlikely that the body has been converted. Is the chassis # proven?

A photo of the chassiplate will soon tell us if it is a AC or BC. What is sure it is not a original BC with an AC motor and right hand drive.....or :?:

I agree with Tobi - the most important question re this Dino Coupe must be if the chassis number is AC 000 3659, or BC 000 3659, or if the chassis
number has been altered in some way.
As I am TOTALLY convinced nothing have been done to AC 000 3670 in order to change it´s identity - in any possible way - the 3659 Coupe is a mystery.

For the moment, I am leaning towards the explanation, it is a 2,4 Coupe that has been damaged in a serious frontal accident. Then it has been repaired
with all front structural parts taken from a 2 Litre Coupe AC 000 3659, including it´s 2 Litre Engine. That would explain it´s "new identity"...?

Everything's possible. Maybe a stolen 2400 has been legalized with a typeplate from a 2000 wreck.

There is no doubt that AC 3670 is a original 2000 Coupe and I think we all agree on that.I did also run a check in the Swedish registration office and all there confirm this.
1 registration is 17.04.1969 in Sweden where the car was sold new.And this is not the date of production that must been at least 1 or 2 mounts before.

That tells me there is no way that a 2,4 with chassinr BC 3659 was produced before April 1969.

Her a short clip of the data from the Swedish reg office of chassi AC 3670;

Let me join in. It could be one of those mules, when the new chassis is run with the "old engine", just to test the new suspension, cooling and brakes in this case...

Perhaps the "mule" idea is near the truth. "Ferrari" Dinos at the time of a new series were sometimes put together with a mixture of parts from the old and new parts bins. These cars aren't exactly mass produced either and could conceivably have been non-standard when changing over from AC to BC.
