Hello..

I'm quite interested to know what oil are you using in the 2400 diff and Gbox.

Regards..

Fiat Selenia FL Teutela W90/M-DA 80w-90 in diff.

Millers Classic Gear Oil 80W/90 GL4 in gearbox.

There are many perfectly suitable choices for the gearbox, but as I understand it, the Fiat stuff is the ONLY one recommended for use in the diff.

What type of diff has the Dino 2400:

Limited slip (Discs type). Fergusson or Torsen?

Thanks..

Use in the Diff only only only the recommended W 90 M/DA! Other oils, also if recommended for lim slip diffs will cause noisy operations.

I bought it from a local Iveco (Fiat Trucks) Dealer. Is there anything like this in the US?
As it is not a special classic car oil it should be able to get it.

Ok. Fair enough.

I'll try to find it in local truck shops.

Thanks.

It might be hard to find in any local truck shop since it seems to be Fiat-/Iveco-specific. Anyway, I've attached the data sheet that you can specify it exactly when looking for it.

I'm in the US and I used Amsoil gear oil
http://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-product/g ... e=AGLQT-EA

with limited slip additive
http://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-product/g ... e=ADATB-EA

That cured all the noises from the rear end. It was all part of my big "drivetrain vibration" problem, but that's all in another thread.

Oh and in the gearbox I used Amsoil GL4 oil
http://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-product/t ... e=MTGQT-EA

GL-4 and not GL-5 because there are apparently additives in GL-5 (Sulphur, I think) that can damage brass synchronizers like our ZF gearbox has.

Yes I really like Amsoil products because they work really well and are actually what they say they are (real synthetic, not "synthesized" from normal oil-stock or mixed) and no, I don't work for them.
