Decompression plates

Due to skimming of the heads over the years I need a pair of decompression plates to prevent the valves hitting the pistons. Anyone done this before? what are they made of?

Hi, Dinoparts.de sells them in different thickness from 1.0 to 2.0 mm I think mine were about 1mm when I replaced them.
