I am trying to get the two engine bay lights working in my 1967 2.0 coupe, but the wiring diagram I have is different in this regard. On the right hand bulb holder I have two blue wires going in and one black earth coming out. On the left hand bulb holder, there is one blue wire going in and one black earth coming out. I can't trace where these blue wires go. The wiring diagram shows blue/black wires which go from the bulb holders to the foot pump for the windshield washer and wiper. Are there different wiring diagrams for early and late series 2.0 litre cars.

Try to connect the wires at both the lighths right and left in all combinations - it makes a difference…

First, in general terms, the +12V feed in a car is not wired from the fuse box to
just one particular bulb, relay, electrical engine or switch.
To cut down the length and complexity of the wire harness, several of the car´s
electrical installations are sharing the same power feed. A wire with a certain
colour sheme often can be followed going from one instance to another, feeding
them all from the same fuse.
In this case, the engine compartment lights are most likely fed with +12V through
the blue wire mentioned. The black wire is connected to earth/ground through
the engine compartment light switch.
In the only wiring diagram I have for the 2 Litre Coupe, the +12V for the engine
compartment lights is fed by a yellow/black wire, but this is probably the later
2 Litre Coupe wiring diagram.
Nevertheless, the principle should be the same. As long as you get +12V in the
blue wires - note that this will only happen when the position lights or the
headlights are switched on! - and the engine compartment light switch is
connecting to earth/ground, your engine compartment lights should work!

Hi, does your car have a double (two seperate) or a single fusebox in the glove compartment on the passenger side?
