Door check strap/brackets

I have been casting a number of unobtanium rubber parts for my 2.0 coupe. I have encased the steel check strap in rubber but in order to fit it I am not 100% sure which way the alloy bracket goes that attaches to the A-pillar. The bracket is sided as you you can see in the image, the 5mm steel pin is not in line with the main body but a few degrees anti clockwise. The other bracket which I have temporarily mounted on the car has the pin slightly clockwise.
Can anyone confirm.

Isn't it obvious when installed or doesn't it work worse when reversed? I've worked on this some years ago and cannot remember that the installation was a question.

The angle is so slight that you can adjust the corresponding bracket within the door to suit so it's not at all obvious.

That's how mine is installed.

Thanks for the image Tobi, that's what I thought it was. However I still can't figure what's the need to have the pin slightly off the vertical.

Maybe it's the slight angle that occurs when the door is opened.
