Fiat Dino 2000 Parts Suppliers

Post by Keen »

We are currently restoring a 1967 Fiat Dino 2000 Cabriolet. As to be expected, there are a number of parts that were required. A pair of front Axle Spindles were ordered from Mr. Fiat with fitment confirmed before hand. Regrettably, when we attempted to install them, there was 1/2" difference between the mounting holes and the spindles were shorter as well. Mr. Fiat's representative offered us a store credit as a resolution which we found acceptable.

Would any of the members have previous experience with any of the European based suppliers? We are preparing a order and would like to ensure that all parts do fit and mitigate the requirement to return parts.

Superformance in UK and Dino Parts in Germany are usually pretty good. However, there are still some issues with their parts. You may search for the parts you need here and can find threads like this: http://www.fiatdinoforum.org/viewtopic.php?t=1766

Please find attached pictures of the spindles that's pretty request. As you can see, there is approximately half an inch difference between the mounting holes both horizontally and vertically. As well the spindle itself is noticeably longer. The black colored one being the original. It was suggested by Mr. Fiat that the could be modified. However, when it involves critical suspension components, we believe they should never be tampered with as their integrity would be compromised....many thanks for the responses...

I neglected to include the part numbers which are 4104944 / 4104945. As well, i have attached better pictures of the horizontal mounting holes and their distance for review. Many thanks.

Keen,
from your pics, I am pretty sure your Spider has knock-off wheels, and -if so - you
are not looking for the correct spare part numbers. See D3.14, below:

These front axle spindles are longer than the corresponding ones used for all Fiat
Dinos with bolt-on wheels (both Coupes and Spiders).
