Does anyone know what these fittings are for on the front edge of the seat bucket?
One on each side of bucket

It is possible that these fittings have been intended for fixing a towel seat cover.

It is very likely to be for a towelling seat cover. I purchased chassis 1239 ( ex Bernard Cahier) in 2004, and it came with blue towelling seat covers with Pininfarina embossed into the plastic attachment points.

While I’m here, can I let you know that I’m ready to sell BS1470. Engine just fully rebuilt at cost of £15,000. Car is Fiat 152 red with cream leather upholstery.

It seems that you could get these extra seat covers in a correspondent colour to your spider - or at least to your carpet.
