Really impressive to have approached this scientifically. Were you able to measure airflow?

No, we did not measure the airflow directly - but the benefit of velocity stacks and cooler air intake temperature is evident for decades now and can be easily calculated.

Hi, I had the arrangement with the three separate KN filters, like Tobi's. I agree that it is not optimal for performance, but since I am not racing it, it just makes the V6 look fantastic - assuming that you cleaned your carbs and detailed the rest :D

I took them off to go back to stock for a concours exhibition. If someone is interested, I'll pass them on for part of what they cost me.

Thanks Dario. I am going to go with domed option I think, like on Zorglub's car.

Another advocate of removing the factory filter is Iain Tyrrell, see below. I don't like the look of the ITG filter he's fitted though - quite apart from the aesthetics I wonder what kind of fire risk that foam fuel sponge represents!

The ITG filter is ugly and not period correct. Maybe the differences are not that much as expected. I've simply replaced my original filter by the Colombo filter just to get better access. And I did not see any change.

By all respect for Iain Tyrrell: he is a great musician, enthusiast and mechanic, but no engineer ;)

The larger the filter surface, the less resistance…
