Fiat Dino 2400 spider on BaT

Post by ebrown5686 »

Hello all,
I happened to take a look at Bring a Trailer this morning, and got a surprise! A 1970 2400 spider, complete with a Pininfarina hardtop! The results may answer some questions about what these cars are worth in the 2021 market. It may take courage to watch. The car is in Colorado and I used some hardtop restoration pictures several years ago from the shop that worked on the car. They have since been taken down, it appears.
See what you think, and watch the show...maybe dinoverde has blazed the trail for the rest of us!
It was ironic today to see iceblue 's guesses back in 2015 at what 2400 spiders were going to bring!

Looks like a very nice car, is the owner active here, or does anyone know the car?

Hello! I was the winning bidder of this 1970 Fiat Dino 2400 Spider on BaT. I live in Denver and the car also resided here. It has been under the wrench at Farland Classic Restoration here in Denver for 10+ years. It was in the market range of other examples. It will join my collection of 1960s foreign roadsters as a stablemate of a 1967.5 Datsun 2000 and a 1963 Fiat 1200 Vetture Speciali. Feel free to reach out with any thoughts or questions. I'll be at most of the premier car shows in Denver.

Hi Ed,

congratulations; I was observing the BaT auction this day until the very end (also placing bids until 100K) :) .

Nice car you have been buying; i wish you all the best with this car. A Dino is for sure very exceptional and impossible to compare with any other Brand I have been driving.
This forum is very helpful in many aspects... so, hope to hear more from you in the closer future.

Best Regards

Denver, nice. They have a car culture there like few other states. I've recently moved to New York from Denver because of covid but most of my car collection is in Denver (garages in Wash Park, Cherry Creek, and Golden). Notable car shows would be Automezzi and the Concourse de Elegance. I usually put a Ferrari, Maserati, and an American/Italian motorcycle in them. Our Dinos would be right at home in those shows.
