Seat belts on coupe
My 1967 2.0 coupe has no mountings for the seat belts on the B pillars. Were they not fitted that year. Is this the correct location or would they be somewhere else.
Re: Seat belts on coupe
Hi there.
Well I have a 67 2.0 Coupe [chassis #2013] and this appears to have always had front seat belts fitted.
I have recently changed them to new models from Quick Fit, who make period seat belts. You can elect to upgrade/update to inertia reel models and they have experience of this [the reels living behind the side panel arm rests in the rear] but I decided not to.
Here are pics of the bolt location on my car. I can confirm the receiver nuts are factory fitted, they are not a later add-on to the base of the B pillars.
The pics were taken some time ago before I completed my interior.
regards
Graham

Re: Seat belts on coupe
Hi Graham, thanks for the reply. I have the original lower mountings at the sill and central tunnel so maybe mine would have been for lap belts. Here is a photo of the same area shown by you but without the trim in place.

Re: Seat belts on coupe
It might be possible that early Coupes only had a provision for two-poiint (lap) belts. But it is also possible that the mounting point has been lost following some welding work. The section looks a bit reworked in your photos.

Hi Tobi, the section may look reworked but that may be down to the angle of light, but it is original, as can be seen from the other side. I did not think that my car was that early as it has round Weber throats and shims above the buckets.

Maybe the 2000s just didn't have that third anchor point.
