Dear Friends,

Has any of you had a problem with the clutch cable being tense, then broken? It just snapped after 50 km of driving. The clutch pedal was hard to push, but workable. Do you think that the gear box has to be taken apart, or is there a spot where these cables are tend/ or likely to get stuck? Thanks, Zsolt

I had replaced a clutch cable in 2011. It broke after two years and I had to replace it again in 2013. The one I have now lasts since then.

Make sure you have a good engine to chassis ground connection. I've seen manual transmission cars where there is poor (or no) ground connection between the engine and the chassis. The next most convenient path is for the ground to travel is through the clutch cable. This will lead to premature clutch cable breakage. Just a thought....

Thanks for the thougt Abarth. We had a new clutch cable installed and had to lengthen the part which is fixed at the bottom. Now the tension is less.
