Pirelli CN 36, 205 70 14 to be re-introduced
Just thought you'd like to know that the Pirelli CN 36 is to be re-introduced in 205 70 14 size. These as I'm sure you'll know were original fitment for the 2.4 cars.

That would be great - are you sure?
I always see only 205/70 in 15'' not in 14''
It would be great if you can post a link to a Website.
Thx, Thomas

Re: Pirelli CN 36, 205 70 14 to be re-introduced
Dougal from Longstone Tyres UK informed me that availability will start approximately in September .
By the way: the german magazine "Auto Bild Klassik" has tested several classic tyres (as magazines usually test modern tyres with full equipment on handling track, wet circle etc...). Test car was an old Porsche 911 from 1971 or so.
Rank:
1. Pirelli CN36
+ best dry performance
+ best wet performance
+ breaking performance like a modern tyre (36m from 100km/h to 0)
+ officially released and recommended by Porsche (at least in "N4" spec")
2. Vredestein Sprint Classic
+good on dry roads
+good on wet roads
- aggressive / dangerous behaviour at the limit, sudden oversteer
3. Michelin XWX
+ very nice on dry roads
+ stable and easy to drive
- poor Aquaplaning performance (10km/h worse than Pirelli)
4. Blockley
- disastrous in all criteria
Wish you a nice summer!

Now on the car and what a difference the steering is so much lighter, (mind you the old ones were from 1986!) Longstone did 5% discount for four and free delivery.
