Hey Guys,
A friend of mine is rebuilding his 2L dino engine and he wants to upgrade it to a 2.3 liter with use of the larger sleeves that Superformance sells.
It appears that one has to have custom pistons made to work with this.
Questions: Has anyone here done this and can you provide me with tips, advice and parts required? Is there a complete kit available for this?
Thanks

Re: 2.3 Liter engine?
Superformance would have the answers. Years ago I spoke to Mike Elliot about the 2.3 option. Mike could not have been happier with the results. He mused that sometimes you just get a bit lucky!(being that it outperforms the 2400 motor handily) The combination of bore / stroke, valve size, combustion chamber, porting etc... just totally shines. Lots of torque and HP. My impression (long time ago) was that the std 2l valves (not oversize) was preferable for road use, But I could be mistaken. The one BIG negative is the delicious FIAT gearbox is not up to the task and would be short lived under the substantially increased load under full throttle - necessitating a switch to the ZF box with adapter plate. Regarding pistons, The kit uses standard 2.4 slugs.
