Hello.
Using a videoscope I have taken some pictures of inside my engine, through the plugs and through tha carbs.. I think the findings are a bit bizarre, and they are going to cost a fortune and a lot of time to adress..
Pics tomorrow.

Cylinder 1. You can see what looks like oil going through the rings, or coming down the inlet valve. You can also see the honing marks are not in 45 deg angle, so somebody has been messing around with the engine
You can see the honing better in this picture:
This is cyl 4: See th mark in the cylinder wall. There are similar marks in the head. Valve broken, or something gone through the cylinder?
That is the inlet valve. It is very wet, so the valve seal is leaking.
This cylinder has still the original pattern, but shows signs of piston seize. See next pic for a close up.

Yep. Looks like it's time for a rebuild. Will need some machine work (bore and hone, turn crank, maybe resize connecting rods, valve job), new gaskets, pistons, rings, etc. I haven't priced parts for the 2400; are they readily available? Expensive?
Borescope is a neat tool, but you can find out a lot about your engine's general health with a compression check and/or a leak down test.
Good luck.

Check Superformance as a guide.
Compression est is vary good to evaluate the condition of your engine, but if you can see what is inside, and find this, you do nor really need a compression test. Even if it is good, you know you need a rebuild. How severe? By strippind down and carefully measuring.
