Door retainers missing.

Post by Barnfind »

Hello.

None of the door retainers are present in my car. So Y need a solution if I don't want to damage my doors or the body itself. I wonder if they are common to other Fiats, as I assume they have to be hard to find..

Of course I could manufacture them, but I would need a sample, or some drawings.

Any help would be much appreciated..

Thanks

Many of the parts were used on Fiat 124 and 2300…There are an abundance of suppliers Spider Point in Germany has a dedicated web site defiantly worth looking at.

Good luck.

Hi, there are no door retainers at the Dino 2400 Coupé hinges. The hinges are designed in a way that the doors just open that much that the front edge does not contact the fender.

So, there is nothing to keep the doors open and prevent them from closing in a windy day, for example?

The Dino 2400 coupe DOES HAVE door retainers for sure.

When they left the factory they had some kind of plastic coating so the door would stop in certain modes. This plastic kind of material was gone at my car and I glued some V-belt wit grooves on it to get it working again. This so it can be standing open half way as well without closing or faling open further.

Attached some photos to clearify.

Tom

Thaks for the pictures.

At the moment I am trying to find something that can fit. Unfortunately, none of the fiat of the time use such a system, so I have to find my way. I have some stops from Lancia Delta, bmw e30, vw golf.. and.. Citroen Berlingo, which looks like the most factible, despite all..

I have just make the part that bolts to the body, and this afternoon I will try to put all toghether.

Regards..
