2ltr Spider Fuel system

Post by Gaelicguy »

I’m about to get into the fuel system of my new to me Spider. It sat for 36 yrs in a storage unit. The PO left I
A half tank of fuel in it. Fortunately it was pre ethanol so I only have to worry about getting it clean I hope.
Are these fuel tanks steel or aluminium?
Besides the level sensor, is there anything else in the tank?
I’ve cleaned and coated smaller motorcycle tanks but this will be the first large tank I’ve done, any recommendation would be appreciated.
If I pour cleaner into the fuel line on the firewall will it flow try the fuel pump?
Thanks
Michael

Thanks
At $350 for a rebuilt tank that looks like the way to go. Particularly if you can hand deliver and pickup!
