Hey Guys
I am currently restoring my Fiat dino 2.4 spider.
The original color of my car was Green, however within the last 40 years has see at least 3 color changes , green, blue & red red
I stripped the entire car and found the original color GREEN under the thick undercoat, I also found GREEN under " Black paint " in the engine bay and truck.
Now, what is the correct color in the engine bay and truck?
Should it be the color of the car or was original color covered black.
When I look for un restored Fiat dino spiders. I noticed that the color of the car is also found inside the engine bay.
For example in the photos / 30 year old car un restored show light blue inside the engine bay.

Tanks for the reply.
I guess will go with the Matt black inside the engine bay
The car would look so good if the engine bay was body color.
Then again, I must try to remain as period correct as possible.

My first gut reaction was go with black, however after digging around I found that some of the spiders where painted body colors in the engine bay area.
However, when looking at the majority of spiders are black.
No big deal, but it must be done correctly and not over restore the spider....

You will see that those who have the engine bay the same color as the body have been repainted in the 80s.
The color found under the black into the engine bay probably means that in the factory before spraying the car and finally the engine compartment ......
Good restoration
