This is very interesting, alfredhamstra!

In my earlier debating this subject, I displayed an engine bay picture from my Fiat Dino Spider Owners Manual
in German, printed in December 1967.
I then mentioned some of the pics are showing a "late" 2 Litre Spider with the wooden dash, but some pics seem
coming from an earlier version of this manual. Your manual from February 1967 is verifying that an earlier version
indeed was printed.

And - looking more closely on the other pics in the December 1967 Owners Manual, the actual car pictured is
AS 0527. (Note this car is the first Spider made, after the "500 homologation Spiders" AS 0026 - AS 0526 were
produced.)
Also, looking at the FIA homologation documents, the Spider used is AS 0026! These documents only include
one black-and-white photo of the engine bay. In my opinion, the right front inner wing and the underside of the
bonnet seems to be in the same colour as the body paint, not matt black...!
Perhaps this is enough to say that early Spiders did have their engine bay in body paint...? If so, the new question
is: - which is the last 2 Litre Spider to have it´s engine bay in body colour?
