Fiat Dino Colour Codes
Hi All,
I've just updated the bodywork colour page on the club website with a table for each Fiat Dino models showing the correct colour codes that were officially available by FIAT.
I have compiled this table from original historical documents and paint charts as well as the help from someone in Lechler Italia who have an extensive database of colour codes and are able to provide the actual paint as well. The colour in the box beside the description is only an indication and not a true reflection of the colour itself (which would be impossible to reproduce on a computer screen).

Thanks Lincoln! 2400 Coupe "rosso ossido" seems a bit lighter than on full scale auto photos, don't you think so?

Re: Fiat Dino Colour Codes
I know it is a computer print, but still, I have seen many shades and would like to know the right one. Very rare on car stills, hardly found one matching the other on the internet at all.
Re: Fiat Dino Colour Codes
I've updated the top chart to match the colour on the paint chip in the list underneath where the cars are also shown. As I'm sure you are aware, the colour displayed on a computer screen doesn't match the actual colour on the car in the daylight. The colours displayed are purely a rough indiciation.

Re: Fiat Dino Colour Codes
Following what said so far on this topic, in order to dispel any further doubt, I enclose below the scan of original FIAT colours chart year 1967 coming straight from CENTRO STORICO FIAT.
http://www.fcagroup.com/it-IT/group/his ... orico.aspx
The colours in the table, and matching interior imitation leather, are the only ones available on the Coupé 2000 cc in 1967 e 1968.
The original documentation exists
P.S.
I point out that they are the same combinations mentioned on Autopocket

Re: Fiat Dino Colour Codes
Hey Lincoln,
If you order col. 490, you end up with a colour that is far too dark.
The right colour is not 490 but 490-68.
As far as interior colours are concerned, my Fathers Dino Coupé (end 1967 till 1971) had a dark red skai upholstery, however the carpets were dark blue and not dark grey!

Re: Fiat Dino Colour Codes - Verde Ginepro
Does anyone have a picture of a car painted verde ginepro or juniper green? My car was originally this color, but someone painted it "Ferrari" red in the 1990's. They did not paint the fender wells or the inside of the doors completely, and they did these areas in black.I can see very small areas where the original color still exists (which they missed), but it is hard to tell what the color really is after almost 50 years! I am having some body work done, so this would be the time to bring it back to the original color. The trouble is I have never seen a picture of a verde ginepro Fiat Dino coupe, and I want to make sure I will actually like the car in it's original color before I make this important decision! Some colors just don't look good on certain cars!
Interestingly, my interior is original and called "Goby" (a vinyl that is somewhat darker that tan) that is in oretty good shape except for some of the carpet.
Does anyone have a verde ginepro Fiat Dino and can anyone post or send me a pic of the car? Has anyone seen one of our cars in this color- How does it look?
Thanks for any help!
Mike

happy new year !!
The information that Lincoln had indicate are correct, as you can see in the original FIAT color table.
The code 490-68 is an actually internal Lechler's code
If you use a paint of other brand (Glasurit or Max Meyer for example) hardly you will find the code 490-68.
The color code 490-68 is certainly right only for Lechler's paint !

these are original photos at the time, taken from the italian journal's test "QUATTRORUOTE" (I seem to remember November 1967), of the Fiat Dino Coupe (2000 cc) in the color Verde Ginepro 327 (juniper green) with internal beige (called goby or sand).
I find this colour very beautiful and original, charming with the Goby (beige) interior.
These are other photos from the web
Those who see in the book AUTOPOCKET (1968 edition) and on original FIAT colort chart are the color combinations External / Internal offered by FIAT
at time of production (1967-1968): the internal right combo colours for VERDE GINEPRO 327 was beige (goby) imitation leather seats (ski) with brown moquette or black imitation leather seats with dark grey (charcoal) moquette
N.B.
As rightly pointed out Lincoln Cooper for the photos presented on the website http://www.dinoitalia.com/tecnica_colori_fiat.html
you can not play to monitor the exact shades of colors displayed

Re: Fiat Dino Colour Codes
The table shows the original FIAT colours of the seat upholstery in imitation leather (ski) and not the color of the carpetDinofanwim wrote:As far as interior colours are concerned, my Fathers Dino Coupé (end 1967 till 1971) had a dark red skai upholstery, however the carpets were dark blue and not dark grey!
When you read "beige or black or red" colours is referring only to the seats.
So it is normal that the car of your father had blue carpet and not dark grey.
The carpet in the Fiat Dino picture but looks dark gray.
If the picture shows a car with preserved original interior (as I believe seeing the state of the skin of the seats) it is likely that at Bertone were fitted carpet of colour that at the time they had available
