2000 Coupe colours

Post by croker »

I have seen various threads about body/interior colours but all seem to relate to the 2400. I have a black interior 1967 Coupe and want to know what paint colours would have been available to match the black interior (carpet is black/grey too).
My car was originally white but I cant decide what colour to paint it. Do I keep it white? or change to Silver, black or another colour?
I havent seen many white 2000 coupes...any photos anywhere? Anyone else have a white 2000 Coupe?

These are the color scheme external / internal.

The table in the photo was published on Autopocket 1968 and refer only to 2000 cc version (1967-68) of the Fiat Dino Coupe.

Thanks Patrizio!
What is your favourite paint colour for a car with black interior? :)

Hi Croker ;)
with black interiors, colors that enhance more the Coupé 2000 IMHO are Rosso Ossido 197 (oxide red) and Grigio Betulla (gray birch - the correct name of white for Dino Coupé).
I am not a lover of the black interiors
Even my Dino Coupé 2000 (undergoing restoration) has black interiors, but are willing to change with the sand interior (of course combined with an exterior right original color), maybe in leather.
The colors chart of the 2400 model of Dino Coupé and Spider I find it much more fascinating, but not usable on the 2000 version :(

This is an example: Red Oxide (Rosso Ossido 197) and Interior leather Dark Brown (Testa di Moro) or vinyl black ;)

My Father had a 2.0 l Dino coupé.
The car was delivered in Helmond (The Netherlands) and was blue non-metallic with a dark red skai interior and blue carpets.
Several months after delivery, the Dinoplex ignition was delivered F.O.C. to the local Fiat Dealer as an upgrade, so it must have been a very early production model.
Unfortunately I cannot find any pictures of the car.
Can you please tell me what the colour number is, as I intend to use it for one of the rebuilds of my 2 Dino's.

The only non-metallic blue available for Dino Coupé 2000 was the "Blue 490".
In the book Autopocket is called "Blu Scuro Navy" (Dark Blue Navy).
With Blu Scuro Navy were correctly matched the interior red.

This is the color combination, although I'm not sure that the leather seat's upholstery and the door's panel are original (the carpet does not look) ...

The 2.4 l Dino most likely will be in 490 with beige leather seats and blue stitches and piping

Boun giorno Patrizio,

Thanks for your reply.
This definitively is the colour of the Dino that my Father had in 1968.
With the use of your information and a specialised company in my hometown Helmond (Netherlands), I will have the paint made and have it on one of my Dino's.
I will make slight alterations to the car in order to highlight certain styling aspects, like the radiator grille. Now I am looking for front quarter bumpers like on the 250GT SWB or an Escort MK1 TC. (Perhaps modify the existing bumper?)
This will draw attention to the beautifully designed air intakes below the radiator.
Also the lower chrome strips that run below the doors are already removed. I hope that the final result of the car will be according to my expectations.
