I found a solution...

Post by jtperry8sf9 »

Dear Forum members,
I found a solution...
With no activity on the list for a month, my nightly frustration prompted me to find a solution. I am not at all a computer code guy, but after getting the "message contains too few characters" response I tried something and it worked!
When attempting to post a new topic or response, at the bottom of the page you will see 5 boxes:
1)Disable BBCode
2)Disable smilies
3)Do not automatically parse URLs
4)Attach a signature (signatures can be altered via the UCP)
5) Notify me when a reply is posted

Four of the five will first come up unchecked, but #4 will already be checked. Uncheck #4 and check 1,2,3 and 5.
Thats it!!!!!!
At least until one of the administrator/computor guys figures out the real fix, this solution should allow all of us to communicate.

Enjoy,

Hi John,
We had problems with the hoster and the update to a new PHP version. These seem to be fixed now. It should work now without applying your workarounds. Just give it a try.

Damn, you haven't been wrong. I really had to check "Do not automatically parse URLs" to post a reply. The other checkboxes do not have to be touched.

By the way, I've deleted some of your double posts regarding this in other subforums.
