2400 rear brake calliper tutorial
There have been many posts regarding how to refurbish the rear brake callipers on the 2400 Dino. The difficulty is that these callipers incorporate a floating two-piston setup that also serves for the handbrake. Often (like me, the first time), one takes it appart and only changes the front piston s...

Re: Rebirth of a Dino
Wow. Just... wow.
Brilliant work, it's nice to see this level of restoration quality going into these cars. They certainly deserve it after being overlooked for so long. Congratulations!

Re: Carpet Pieces
Hi Graham,
I replaced my original orange carpets a few years ago, and can confirm that there is no extra carpeting under the front seats, just the sound deadener.
Best,
Dario

Re: Chain tensioner adjustment, turned in to major failure
Interesting find, I'm sure you'll feel some consolation knowing that it was not related to the chain tensioners! By the way, the last picture makes a beautiful poster. What an engine! Imagine what it will be like when it's all back together looking better than ever. I know it's not original, but I p...

Re: Wipers intermittent mode
Hi, I also had a working intermittent wiper until the black box failed. Replacing it with the Alfa/124 spider one got it working again, but the intermittent timer is much less responsive. I think that the replacement boxes are not exactly correct for our cars. I think I still have the old one and co...

Re: Tire size
If you want the original look, then the michelin XWX are a close match for the period Cinturato. Pirelli now also has a classic collection which comes pretty close as well. For cheaper, you can pick up a set of Vredestein that will also look ok. Otherwise, Toyo had the correct size in modern tyres. ...

Re: rear caliper with parking brake
Hi, does "every component" include the master brake cylinder? The symptoms you describe seem more the the MC than the calliper: The Dino has two separate brake lines. If there is a problem with the rear callipers, the other line (to the front brakes) will keep the pedal from going to the f...

Re: Chain tensioner adjustment, turned in to major failure
Dan, I suggest you heed Brian's advice. My engine has also suffered a similar fate (with the previous owner), and it is running superbly since many years. They are not particularly complex nor difficult to maintain, and they are very reliable. The added worth of a car with a rebuilt engine will part...
