Air filter - aftermarket options

Hi, can anyone enlighten me as to the pros and cons of fitting an aftermarket air filter assembly? I have the carbs off for cleaning and was struck by how heavy and overengineered the air cleaner is. It also hides the glorious V6 from view! I have seen some nice period chrome assemblies in the past ...

Amelia Island

Will any Dino folk be at the Gooding & Co Amelia Island sale 4th March? I happen to be in Florida and plan to attend, mainly to drool over Herve’s incredible Spider. Be great to meet up if anyone is in the vicinity.

Re: Restauration 2.4 Spider

Gunnar, your car is in the hands of the best Dino bodywork guru. It will be perfect when Mark has finished with it.

Re: Goodwood Revival

Was great to meet you finally at the Revival Tobi!

We didn't manage a gathering of Dinos sadly, but looking forward to seeing Rob K at the Brooklands Italian Car Day in October, and anyone else who can make it.

Re: Cromadora wheels

I didn't know about the weight difference, that is definitely a consideration. Also great points about the relative reliability of originals vs repros. I always learn more from this forum than I contribute. Luckily I have my original wheels, so I still have the choice.

Re: Cromadora wheels

I replaced my wheels with high quality and faithful reproduction rims available from Superformance (and others). I just didn't want to trust my life to 50 year old magnesium alloy that may have lived a tough life. You can always refurbish your original wheels for shows and posterity.
