Re: Tacho removal 2.4 Coupe

Mine was giving all sorts of problems and it turns out I was running the wrong coil. What ignition set-up do you have? The tacho is driven by 12V and a pulsed signal from the dinoplex. You can reproduce it with a function generator, or even a mechanical switch driven by your drill (eg the points dis...

Re: Tacho removal 2.4 Coupe

Hi, Access is a bit limited, but you can also reach behind it from below and undo the two fasteners that clamp it in place. I had removed my steering column and this helped a lot. In fact, I'm not sure it can be reached otherwise, but might be worth a try. To remove the steering column, you don't ne...

Re: Interior lights

The turn off light switch is very useful when you have the front hood open. There is a switch there that turns on the light in the engine compartment when the lights are on. But, can also turn on the lights inside, daring your battery if you leave the hood open . Maybe my car is wired weirdly and no...

Re: Ice Ice baby

Hi, I did it inexpensively by installing a second hand Blaupunkt amp in the trunk and adding a 8€ bluetooth receiver. It works great, and the 400 W are just what you need if you want to hear anything above the wind and engine. Otherwise, I just put it on medium and I only hear the music when at a st...

Re: Bleeding Brakes

Welcome to the forum! I have rebuilt my MC and commiserate in the pain of getting it out and back in, it was probably the worst job I have done ever. However, I had no problem in bleeding the brakes afterwards. Started at the rear right, then rear left, front right and finally front left. FYI, there...

Re: Chain tensioner adjustment, turned in to major failure

I'll be the first to express my amazement and congratulate you for the time and energy you put into getting it back on the road. You will put it back in the car knowing that no part that could fail was left behind. That is certainly worth the price. I hope you will have the car back on the road in t...

Re: 2400 rear brake calliper tutorial

Reassembly is basically the reverse procedure. Here are the parts ready for reassembly. 20190404_213002.jpg I use some lithium grease to hold things in place and lubricate the mechanism. Don't forget the larger (12mm) O-ring on the lever mechanism, next to the where the lever to the cable is attache...

Re: 2400 rear brake calliper tutorial

Now,,you need to remove a circlip that holds a metal cage and spring mechanism inside the rear piston. The circlip is held in by pressure and has one end beveled so that you can get a thin flat screwdriver in provided that you aligned it over one of the cutout holes. Then, remove the C-shaped clip t...
