Re: alternative valve gear components
Hydraulic lifters is not going to be easy because you will need an oil feed circuit to the lifters in first place. I would not swap my shims for the newer style myself if it was originally equiped with the small shims. It's much lighter and all period high reving (motorcycle) race engines had these ...

Re: Engine stutters at low revs
I think in first place it's important to know for sure that your advance mechanism is working properly (especially around that rpm range which you could check with a timing light). You should also make sure that the carburettors and jets are clean, float level correct, fuel pressure correct, that yo...

Fiat Dino Tacho
I have a question concerning the tacho of my 1967 Dino Coupé. It had a perfectly functioning dinoplex ignition and the tacho was working correctly, i exchanged the dinoplex for a 123 ignition and the only disadvantage of this is that my tacho is not reading correctly anymore, it's showing about twic...

Re: Fuel Pump replacement
I've just replaced mine for a Hardi 18812 fuel pump. Reasonable priced and quite likely readily available through many suppliers in the US. Pressure is 0.38 bar (5.5 PSI) and 130L/min. Other documentation says 0.35 bar and 110L/min but anyhow a good fuel pump with good flow and pressure. You can run...

Re: So what did you do to your Dino today?
While my dino was out for repairing some previous damage i took the opportunity to fix my door hinges. Plastic bushes in the hinges were non existing anymore, which resulted in excessive play on the door, so i just made some new ones myself from brass. Will last some time i guess. http://www.mijnalb...

Re: Carb set-up
Yes i'm very happy with the results. It was a pain in the *** to get everything right but it did pay off. I think i disassembled the carburettors about 30 times to get it spot on, most off all the float levels. I installed new needles and set everything to factory specifications (float hight of 47,5...

Re: Carb set-up
Allright, Today i went to the dyno, so this might be valuable information for fellow dino owners. But maybe in particular (or only) dino 2000 drivers with the 40 DCN 14 carburettors. My assumptions where right and it was indeed running lean at transition. Really not only at transition but the whole ...

Re: Distributor contacts setup
Adrian, a question you'll might be able to help me out with. About distributors, i read at Ferrarichat a tread from you about optimized advance curve for 246. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/206-246/291330-optimized-advance-curve-246gt.html It looks a bit drastic compared to the original advance cu...

Re: Carb set-up
Does someone know what type of emulsion tube should be in an early 2000 40DCN 14 carburettor?
Just want to be sure that i have the correct original one in place before i go to the dyno. Right now i have a F33 tube, but can't find any information about what tube should be in there originally.
