Question about Dinoplex C AEC101CA

I am doing an engine compartment refresh and engine compartment repaint on my 1967 Dino coupe. According to the outside of the box, I have a Dinoplex C AEC101CA. Everything I have read says that in "emergency" mode the tachometer is non-functional. I have a functioning tachometer in both "normal" an...

Re: Door check strap

After reading the post on door check straps I decided to look to see what comprised the "check strap assembly" only to discover mine are completely missing. Neither side is there. I see threaded holes where they should be. Does anyone have the bits that are not available at Dinoparts that they would...

Re: How do I know if engine mounts need replacing?

How do you determine "what shape the engine mounts are in"? Obviously if the rubber has separated from the metal, it is time to replace, but In my experience, engine mount usually compress over time, lowering the engine in the chassis. Do you measure the height of the rubber part of the mount or use...

How do I know if engine mounts need replacing?

On pre-1990s 4 cylinder Alfa Romeos, if you can't get a finger between the front sway bar and the crank pulley - then your engine mounts are shot and need replacing. Is there any reference point that can be measured to indicate it is time to change the engine mounts on a 1967 Dino coupe? I'm going t...

Wanted - Weber 40 DCNF accelerator pump cover screw/post

1967 FIAT Dino coupe, 40 DCNF 12 carbs. On the accelerator pump cover there are 4 fasteners. 3 fasteners are regular screws. The 4th fastener is a threaded rod with a 7 mm hex nut incorporated into the shaft of the fastener. On the end of the fastener there is a post which holds a spring which is co...

DCNF 40 carburetor base plate gasket

I'm tying to find out if there should be a gasket between the intake manifold and the carburetor base plate spacer. I've seen diagrams where there is a gasket between the intake manifold and base plate spacer and another gasket between the base plate spacer and carburetor and other diagrams that onl...

Re: Grub screw removal on water pump Dino coupe 2.0

Impact screw driver sheared half the head off slotted screw leaving me nothing to grab. I had to drill out the rest and will tap and put in a larger grub screw with an Allen head and never seize to facilitate removal in the future.

I will certainly investigate the spark plug threaded tip idea. Thanks, Ben.

Re: Grub screw removal on water pump Dino coupe 2.0

Are you referring to the type of impact screw driver that turns/twists when you hit it with a hammer? I have one of those but the tips are all quite large 8-12 mm and the grub screw head can't be much more than 3 mm wide. If you think it would work, I could grind down a larger bit to fit. I wasn't s...

Grub screw removal on water pump Dino coupe 2.0

The grub screw retaining the bearing on my water pump turned one and a half revolutions out then stopped. The head of the screw is starting to deform and more pressure is likely to completely strip it. I've tried penetrating oil. Does anyone have advice on how to proceed? I have a spare pump body wh...
