Re: Steering Column Bearings

Dario, thanks so much for your very useful reply. This makes me think the fault/failure must be in the spring or a spacer, as you suggest. There is no way my 'wobble' is due to warn ball bearings, No choice but to dive in there, disassemble and see what I find [save that job until winter] but at lea...

Steering Column Bearings

Does anyone have experience of stripping the upper steering column to access the bearings? [67 2.0 Coupe] My steering wheel has way-too much play, only in the upper area, all the column with its universal joints is fine. The wheel will rock up and down maybe 5mm. I removed the wheel and housing with...

Re: Seat belts on coupe

Hi there. Well I have a 67 2.0 Coupe [chassis #2013] and this appears to have always had front seat belts fitted. I have recently changed them to new models from Quick Fit, who make period seat belts. You can elect to upgrade/update to inertia reel models and they have experience of this [the reels ...

Fuel Flap Gasket

Hi guys. Can anyone advise if my 2.0 1967 coupe should have this extra rubber trim inside the fuel filler flap? I have the boot shape 4147518 that catches the spilt petrol but I can see on a 2400 Bodywork Spare Parts catalogue [thanks forum] that there should be part number 4167251 which looks like ...

Re: 67 Coupe Paint Colour

Hi John, thanks for posting the colour chart showing Lilla 422. I can confirm that was the colour of my 67 Coupe. At least on this monitor's screen, the shade is quite accurate. The oddest aspect is that it is just a lifeless shade, as it is not metallic, and on the full size car I can only imagine ...

Carb Manifold Pipes

Evening chaps, Just getting my 2 lt Coupe tuned up on a rolling road, seems I need my spindle bushes replacing on the DCNFs, as there is an air leak there. My mechanics are also confused about the 2 pipe connectors on the carb inlet manifolds. I do not have the original air filter assembly but a K&a...

Re: Carpet Pieces

It is good to know there is a source and the cost is not unreasonable. Of course, the price is only reasonable if the product works! I used my previous carpet set as a reference, with a few corrective notes for where I could see improvements can be made and had a custom set made by Hamilton Classic ...

Carpet Pieces

Thanks to John jtperry8sf9 and Tobi for finding a way for us to continue the goodness of the forum, what a relief!! I am about to replace my interior carpet set on my '67 2.0 Coupe. I have a set to use as patterns [non-original I am sure] but they are a nice fit and seem quite correct. What I am que...

Re: wiper motor removal

It looks as if you have a different wiper motor. Assuming mine is a standard Coupe fitting [I'm sure it is], I agree that it should just have the male/female white connector blocks.

2.0 Coupe Inner Arches

Hi Comrades, my '67 Coupe has been repainted [final stages]. All the lower part of the car has been welded with good new metal, so it has had new inner and outer sills. Now when I look into the front wheel arches, you can see right though a gap where the panels don't meet [pink circle]. My drainage ...
