Re: 2.0 Liter Stalling at Stops

Thanks for the responses.
At some point in the past, I raised the float levels when chasing a flat spot around 2500 RPM. That, and a jet change solved the flat spot.

Two things I will try/verify:
  • Float levels for DCNs.
  • Measure fuel pressure with a gauge while driving.
I'll report my findings.

2.0 Liter Stalling at Stops

I have a 2.0 liter coupe (1967) that starts and runs very well. Carbs rebuilt recently. Ignition is new - MSD and Pertronix trigger, wires. However, with the warm idle set at 800 rpm, when I come to a stop, the engine revs drop and it dies unless I blip the throttle. Nearly everything in the car is ...

Also: Does anyone have experience with the "throttle linkage improver" sold by some vendors?

Throttle Return Spring Source

In all the parts removing/cleaning, I have misplaced the throttle return spring for the 1967 Coupe I am working on. Part number is 4171776. The usual sources do not seem to have it. I place a similar spring in it's place temporarily. However, it is not fully returning the linkage. Does anyone have a...

Here is the photo. The spring pin/roll pin can be seen on the wheel at about 7 o'clock.

Re: Petronix replacement for points

I'm thinking that the previous owner did quite a few modifications to install the components in the distributor. The circlip to hold the ball bearing on was missing and when I tried to remove it, the bearing disintegrated, leaving behind the collar still pressed onto the shaft. Now that I have a cle...

Re: Petronix replacement for points

No history is available on the reluctor wheel, as the prior owner has passed away.
I did mange to remove the pick-up and it has some corrosion on it. So, I think I will get a Pertronix Ignitor II. It is supposed to be a direct fit.
