Re: How to access grease point in torque tube?

If the cardan shaft is removed you can remove the snap ring that secures the bearing in place. No need to remove the 8 bolts. Than you can pull the complete shaft with bearing out using a slide hammer. Not much force is needed, it will slide out relatively easy. When you have it out you can grease t...

Re: Gemmer steering box

I can't help you with a pitman arm. But i've done the same thing on these Gemmer boxes as well, they are also used on Lancia's from that time. The way i managed to get it off was by using a big hydraulic press. You need to fabricate something with plates that will shove in between the pitman arm and...

Re: Ignition wires colour etc.

Hi Richard, The HT lead you show in the link is a copper core lead. That type of lead should be used in combination with resistor caps you mention to have some EMI and RFI suppression. Works OK'ish in my opinion. I would instead go for the 'ferroflex' lead they sell at the green spark plug, that is ...

I would not be to concerned about the resistance of the cap and plug. A good ignition system will have no problems with that what so ever. It has hardly any impact on spark output but it's there to reduce the 'noise level' of Radio Frequency Interference and it suppresses ElectroMagnetic Interferenc...

Re: Petronix replacement for points

An original Dinoplex is in my opinion as good as any other newer replacement system. The problem lies most of all in the distributor. There is an engine builder just around the block from my place and they happened to rebuild around 15 Dino Engines over the last 2 years or so. Because i have a distr...

Re: Petronix replacement for points

Maybe i can ad an opinion as well, I think the preferable option is to keep everything original and make sure your distributor is in 100% top condition. I have never had any issues with points in my life, i did have problems with parts that caused points to wear, bad cam-profile surface, no grease o...
