Re: MSD Ign
Hi Don, I could supply you something like that. I have all the parts to make/convert a dino ignition to a 'programmable' MSD electronic ignition system. With this system you have a magnetic pickup instead of the breaker points, and the ignition box to control the advance. So there will be no more we...

Re: Camshaft removal
Try valve shims from Alfa TwinSpark engines. There are 2 different versions TwinSpark engines, older ones with 9mm stems and later ones with 8mm stems. You need the later ones from for example Alfa 164 if my memory serves me well. They fit perfectly, they come in all sizes, are cheap and easy to get...

Re: Camshaft removal
On an early style Dino you can easily use the first one. I've been running my dino for around 20.000km with intake close to 0.15 en exhaust close to 0.40. No problems whatsoever. And once set correctly they hardly change, haven't had to re-adjust them during that time. I would aim for 0.175 and 0.40...

Re: Dino2000 Rubber Trans Mount Fit
No it's for my Fiat 130 but with the same ZF gearbox as is used on the 2400.
But chassis is different so it won't fit on a Dino. But the idea can be used by someone who wants to design one for a Dino.

Re: Camshaft removal
Not necessarily needed to remove the sprocket to get the camshaft out. Just release the tension from the chain, remove all bearing caps, remove 1 or 2 studs from the camcovers and you can tilt them and slide them out. But if the cams need re-adjustment after refitting, you must indeed rotate the spr...

Re: 2.0 cam clearance buckets
I cannot see any other reason as the reason described above, and beside that also the assembly time at the factory. I would assume that assembling a 2.4 head in the factory only takes half the amount of time compared to a 2.0 head. I would anyhow assume that many of the changes were done mainly to i...

Re: 2.0 cam clearance buckets
I would never change it, and if, only the other way around. The early style is much better. It is much lighter, easier on the cams, easier on the valves, harder surface than the shims, able to rev higher. Beside that it will take you 2 extra hours setting the valve clearance (which you never have to...

Re: Dino2000 Rubber Trans Mount Fit
With these kind of parts, i don't even try anymore to 'just' purchase the right part. This part, like with many other parts, i just sit down behind my computer, design something properly where i can use good quality OE parts. In this case i designed a gearbox mount that uses OE BMW vibration mounts ...
