Re: Ignition switch Issues

Finding a new original FIAT 4156194 ignition lock with the no. 16 contact is getting more and more difficult. If your old ignition lock has too damaged (burnt) electrical kontacts, you still can replace it with the more common FIAT 124/125/850/Lada ignition locks - although these are missing the no....

Re: THE FIAT DINO CHASSIS-NUMBER MYTHOLOGY

Antc, The Body parts Catalogue page for 2,0 Litre Coupe below confirms the 2,0 and 2,4 Litre Coupes share the same inner front wing section parts. It is probably the explanation how your 2,4 Coupe got it´s AC 0878 identity. The welded fastening bolts for a Dinoplex are somewhat confusing, but these ...

Re: THE FIAT DINO CHASSIS-NUMBER MYTHOLOGY

Antc, I think what Fanalone means is the whole right inner front wing section in your 2,4 Coupe has been replaced by the corresponding part from AC 0878.These sections in the front are probably mostly spotwelded, and possible to drill-out. Skärmbild 2023-12-05 174012.png AC 0878 should not have any ...

Re: THE FIAT DINO CHASSIS-NUMBER MYTHOLOGY

Yes Erik, now everything is clearly visible, many thanks! Bringing all this info together must have been an absolutely giant work. All FDF members should be impressed! Two minor reflexions; When going through the listed registration numbers, I found two Fiat Dinos of interest, which I have some know...

Re: THE FIAT DINO CHASSIS-NUMBER MYTHOLOGY

Erik, that is the way I have done it - with no success! I have asked a guy who knows computers well, and he says the only explanation he has, is if your pics are in the format "JPEG 2000". He says that format will not work in my Windows computer...? If I try up-zooming the downloaded and o...

Re: THE FIAT DINO CHASSIS-NUMBER MYTHOLOGY

I don´t know if I am doing things wrong, but when I try reading Fanalones 6 pages listing the chassis numbers and the ricambi numbers respectively, the text letters are way too small! When trying to zoom up the pages, the only thing that happens is everything just get even more blurry!! When trying ...

Re: THE FIAT DINO CHASSIS-NUMBER MYTHOLOGY

Fanalone, all this is very interesting and I am getting more and more convinced you have found the missing key for how the original Fiat Dino documentation should be read and understood! For my non-italian-speaking mind, the "numero di vettura" always has seemed meaning "serial number...

Re: Fiat Dino chassis number

I have checked my sources in this particular question: (re which Dino Coupe was first to get the large Dinoplex factory-installed.) My source was a photocopy of the FIAT Service Message in German - which I actually think I got from Mike Morris!! Unfortunately, it was of a less-good printing quality,...

Re: Gemmer steering box

The only steering box looking similar to the Gemmer/Dino box seems to be the steering boxes for FIAT 125/125P/132/Argenta. Also, the 125 box gearing ratio is the same as the Gemmer/Dino box. I have overhauled and adopted one of these to fit a Fiat Dino, as a good-to-have spare part, if the original ...
