Re: Cost to rebuild the Dino carbs

A good point on the plugs in the carbs. I have probably done 50 different carbs for cars and motos. I never used the heater and don’t usually have the carb in for more than 10 minutes. I’ve done Webers, Solex and lots of Japanese and Italian moto carbs( they have plugs everywhere) so far no problems...

Re: Cost to rebuild the Dino carbs

Hi Dennis, I live in the US and can tell you $5.5k to rebuild 3 Weber carbs is daylight robbery. These are very simple carbs. There are several Weber carb parts places in the US. You have to dig around a bit as many don’t carry the older series parts. I’m in our Portugal home right now, so I cannot ...

Re: Nice Dino Spider restoration

Did the leather seat option include the rear seat and cover on the Spiders? My front seats are leather but the back appears to be vinyl!

Re: Dino restoration on YouTube

Kal, Thanks for your post and great article. The Russian steel narrative is one I never believed. Steel mills have very strict control over their furnaces. Most of the Russian mills in the 60’s where post war plants, but I know from associates I work with at Krupp stahl that the quality controls wer...

Re: Magneti Marelli BZR 205A ignition coil

The problem is! You just know there’s a case of these stuck in the back of a warehouse somewhere in the world. And no ones knows what the hell they are for😂😂
Everytime I drive past a Magneti Marelli sign in an old shop, I get this urge to go in and ask if they’ve got one🥴🥴

Argonaut,
I’m sorry I opened the wound for you! Yes 2 years is even longer than my own restoration.
I can’t imagine how Mark gets these cars completed. The Maseratis have sucked a lot of time, and I think he can’t say no to them.
I’m sure you have had more than one discussion with him🥴

Re: Coupe 2000 or 2400

Thanks Tobi,
Based on that information! Would it be possible to run the Dinoplex on two external coils rather than change to a different system?
