Actual piston size

I am rebuilding my 2000 Dino engine. I have 2 complete engines and a third block. I have measured the cylinder bores on all the blocks and also measured the used pistons that came from those engines. New pistons are listed as 86.0, 86.5 and 87.0 mm. None of my used pistons match these numbers. Most ...

Re: State of my distributor cap

A Dremel tool and a wire brush will easily clean the deposits off those contacts.

2400 vs 2000 starter - is it the same?

Can anyone confirm whether the starter motor for the 2000 is interchangeable with the starter motor for the 2400?
Someone was kind enough to share with me a link to a lighter, smaller, gear reduction starter that fits the 2400, but will it work on the 2000?
Thanks,
Ben Higgins

Re: 2400 Coupe engine rebuild

Thanks to those who replied about the coil spring compressors. The one I used to get the springs off was sort of a combination of the two models you shared. Photos attached. The issue was the lower portion was on the thick side and I had to pound it in between the coils to properly seat and even the...

Removing liners FIAT Dino 2000

Has anyone in the USA successfully had a repair shop remove and install new piston liners?
If so, I would love to have a contact. I have 2 blocks that are unusable without replacing the liners.

Re: 2400 Coupe engine rebuild

Thanks to doublegarage [Richard] for the suggestion of the hydraulic lift table. It worked great. I fortunately did not need to make a head puller tool. My car started easily, idled well and seemed to be a decent driver. I dropped the engine and transmission together to work on the clutch and also t...

Re: steering box differences?

I found one on eBay Italy and bought it. It appears to be in excellent shape and it will be nice to have it as a spare.
Thanks,
Ben
